How do I customize my dashboard?

Choose, arrange and remove widgets on your start page

Your Dashboard opens right after you log in to TimeTac. You decide which widgets it shows and in which order, so the information you need most is always at the top. This works in the web app, the desktop app and the mobile app.

Which widgets can I add to my dashboard?

Widgets are small tiles that summarise one area of TimeTac, such as your working hours or your open requests. The following widgets are available in the web app, the desktop app and the mobile app:

  • Working hours: tracked working hours and breaks
  • Working hours analytics: working and absence hours by week, month or year
  • Annual leave entitlement: remaining and used annual leave days
  • Live status: working status of your employees
  • Compliance: compliance status of your working time
  • Upcoming absences: upcoming absences of your employees
  • Requests: your recent requests and their status
  • Project time analytics: tracked project hours by week or month
  • Project time: project hours you tracked today
  • Billable time: billable and non-billable project hours
  • Budgets overview: consumption and status of every budget you can see

 

Info: The widgets available to you depend on your role and the seats in your account. For example, project widgets such as Budgets overview only appear if your account includes Project Time Tracking.

Customise your dashboard in the web and desktop app

You add widgets in the Select widgets dialog. A removed widget isn't lost: you can add it back here at any time. There's no minimum number of widgets, so your dashboard can also stay empty.

Follow these steps

  1. On your Dashboard, click Configure widgets. The Select widgets dialog opens.
  2. Select the widgets you want to see.
  3. Click Save.

In edit mode, you move widgets to a new position or remove the ones you no longer need. Your layout only applies to you, so your changes don't affect anyone else's dashboard.

Follow these steps

  1. On your Dashboard, click Edit.
  2. Drag a widget to the position you want.
  3. To remove a widget, click its remove icon (X).
  4. Click Save.

 

Warning: If you click Cancel, TimeTac discards all changes you made in edit mode.

Customise your dashboard in the mobile app

In the mobile app, you add, remove and reorder widgets on a single screen. You choose from the same widgets as in the web and desktop app.

Follow these steps

  1. On your Dashboard, tap the edit icon (pencil) in the top right corner. Edit dashboard opens.
  2. Under Available widgets, select the widgets you want to add. They move to Widgets added.
  3. To reorder a widget, drag it by its handle (six dots) to the position you want.
  4. To remove a widget, deselect it.
  5. Tap Save.

Add overview widgets in the mobile app

The Overview area always sits at the very top of your dashboard in the mobile app. It shows small tiles with key figures and quick actions and is only available in the mobile app.

You can choose from the following overview widgets:

  • Working hours today: working hours recorded today, excluding breaks
  • Break hours today: break time tracked today
  • Started: start time of the first time entry today
  • Time ended today: end time of the last time entry today
  • Working time balance: accumulated overtime or undertime
  • Total working hours this week: time worked this week
  • Annual leave entitlement: annual leave days remaining
  • Add absence: request an absence
  • Compliance: days with compliance issues this month
  • Project time today: time tracked on projects today
  • Billable hours this week: billable project time this week
  • Project hours this week: time tracked on projects this week
  • Budgets on track: share of your budgets that are on track
  • Scan device: start tracking time with an NFC device
  • Tracker: pair and set up your tracker

Follow these steps

  1. On your Dashboard, tap the edit icon (pencil) next to Overview. Edit overview widgets opens.
  2. Under Available widgets, select the widgets you want to add. They move to Widgets added.
  3. To reorder a widget, drag it by its handle (six dots). To remove a widget, deselect it.
  4. Tap Save.

 

Tip: Add the Scan device widget if you often track time with NFC devices on the go. You start time tracking with a single tap from your dashboard.
