How do I connect TimeTac with Slack?
By integrating TimeTac with Slack, you can automatically display your employees’ current status in Slack – including information about tasks, breaks, and absences. You can also assign individual emojis to each status type to make the display even clearer.
In this article, you’ll learn the steps required to set up the interface and the configuration options available to you.
Requirements for setup
Before connecting TimeTac with Slack, make sure the following conditions are met:
- A Slack workspace on the Enterprise plan where the integration will be embedded
- Administrator rights in the Slack workspace to install the app
- Access to the TimeTac API, including the required credentials
1Create and configure your Slack app
Make sure to note the OAuth access tokens and the App Client ID – we’ll need these later for the integration.
- Log in to Slack and go to the Slack API website (https://api.slack.com/).
- Create a new app, choose an appropriate name, and select the desired workspace.
- Add the required permissions, for example: users.profile:write, users:read, users:read.email
